Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon filed a federal lawsuit against daily fantasy sports operator FanDuel. It will add to the legal fees for FanDuel, which has been named a defendant in over 20 lawsuits in the month of October alone. Yet, Garcon's lawsuit is the first wherein FanDuel finds itself being sued by a current professional athlete. Not only does it make little sense for a professional athlete to embroil himself in such a high profile lawsuit while he is still an active player, the particular charges made by Garcon appear to be destined for defeat.
